After an eight year career with the Oakland Raiders, Sam realized that although he’s grateful for the opportunity to play professional football, his real passions are entrepreneurship and philanthropy.

Sam is the founder and president of Tackling the Odds, a non-profit committed to enriching the lives of disadvantaged youth by helping to educate, support and motivate young minds to reach their potential.

Over the years, Sam looked for business opportunities that aligned with his values and utilized his mix of strategic, creative thinking. Some of those include partnerships with venture capital firms, Ignite Fund and First Down Ventures, and his most recent role as Director of Marketing at TecTraum, a medical device company.

In addition to starting and growing businesses, Sam has had the privilege to serve on multiple boards over the years including Summit Bank, eTeamSponsor, and QuickClass.

Never being too far away from the game of football, and speaking to the impact he’s had on the organization, Sam also serves as an Ambassador in the Las Vegas Raiders Legends Program. His work there focuses on athletes at the high school, college, and professional level to develop life skills for success on and off the field.
